Reverend Arthur C. Willis, Sr. graduated from Murray Wright High School in 1971.  He attended Wayne State University under the (SIP) Program.  He also attended and graduated from a Michigan State University Program with a License to be a full service insurance agent and Birmingham Bible Institution.  He graduated from Liberty Bible College with a degree in Biblical Counseling.

Rev. Arthur C. Willis, Sr. is married to Janice Willis.  They have been married forover 40 years.  They have five beautiful children, Stephanie, Arthur Jr., Chanucey, LaThomas and Starr and 15 grandchildren.

Rev. Willis is very active in the community.  He is the President of The Romulus Minister Association, board member of the Romulus Boys and Girls Club, Chair of Romulus Mayor’s Drug Task Force and the President of The PEN Enrichment Community Center.  Rev. Willis is the former President of the Concerned Pastors and Ministers Council of Detroit & Vicinity. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and is the Commander of Detroit Public School’s Police Department Chaplin Core.

Rev. Willis accepted his calling into the ministry in March of 1988 under the leadership of Pastor J. H. Johnson, Jr. of Greater Middle Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a faithful member and served in numerous areas and was ordained in 1989.

On February 1, 1990, the Lord moved the congregation of Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church in Romulus, MI to vote Rev. Arthur C. Willis, Sr. as their Pastor.  He has served in that capacity for 31 years.

Rev. Willis continues to be active in the community by providing food and clothing to the community through Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church.  He also worked to provide financial literacy to people of the community over the last five years and worked with many partners to offer COVID-19 Testing in 2020.

For all of his contributions to the community, the city of Romulus named April 26th as Arthur C. Willis Day and he was selected as Person of the year for the City of Romulus by the Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
